Commerzbank has opened its new representative office in Lithuania, based in Vilnius. The location strengthens the Bank's presence in the Baltic region, responding to the growing economic importance of the Baltic region. Through its intensive networks with local banks, associations and public authorities, Commerzbank will foster growing business connections between our corporate clients and the Baltic States. The representative office in Vilnius serves as a hub for the three Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It will focus on deepening business relationships in the region as well as on initiating opportunities for trade and project financing.
“We are where our clients need us. This is why we are adapting our international network to the developments of international trade,” said Brigitte Réthier, Commerzbank’s Divisional Board Member for Institutional Clients & Transaction Banking Sales, at the opening ceremony in Vilnius. Lithuania and the Baltic region have experienced economic prosperity for several years. The Bank’s new representative office in Lithuania marks a further step in Commerzbank's international growth strategy. Réthier continued: “We are pleased with the support we have received from the local government and the central bank in Lithuania.”
The opening of the representative office in Lithuania is the third in a row after Morocco (end of 2023) and Jordan (beginning of 2024). With a share of around 30 percent, Commerzbank is the leading financier of German foreign trade.
